Review of Sarissa Precision: Water Storage Tank – Q019 (28mm)

£8.00 or $10.81USD

Following on with my series of reviews, my box(es) of Sarissa buildings came in today.  In an unusual moment of brilliance,
I decided to build the simplest one first and build my way up.  I’m glad I did.

The Good:  It’s Sarissa.
The components are cut very well and easy to remove off the trays. The assembly pictures are clear and easy to see.
The components fit together tightly with little to no “wiggle” on the mdf. It’s really nice that this can be bult with the
top removable so that minis can be placed inside.

The Not So Good:
It’s a good thing that this is such a simple build. There are NO labels evident on the trays despite the lettering that the instructions show.
I am a bit concerned about the more complex pieces I will be assembling in the near future.

Final Thought: It’s a nice simple piece of terrain that I look forward to painting and having on the game table for This is Not a Test.

I noticed your using super glue on mdf.
As Mdf can be highly absorbant ,wicking the super glue away from the surface before it can adhere to a second piece.
There's a counter intuitive technique to make your glue dry faster and set harder.
Apply a little water to the joint shortly before applying the super glue. This is drawn in by the wick effect. But blocks the super glue from being drawn too far into the mdf before setting. The contact with the slight moisture inside the mdf speeds up the chemical reaction so the glue sets faster.
Normally the moisture in a baby wipe is enough or dipping your finger in a glass of water then wiping it across the area you want to add glue too.
It does require a little practice as there's no way to gauge how much water someone's going to interpret as being sufficient.
(The reality is it's much less than you'd think.) So practicing on the left over mdf Sprue is recommended just to gauge what works best for you.

Thank you for the tip!

Uhmm, actually, I wasn't using superglue on the mdf. I use Aleene's Tacky Glue.
The superglue was just there in the background.

Picture added: quick and simple paint job. Nothing spectacular, I was trying out some new paints. I still need to clean up the base.
