Tactical Painter's Second World War in 20mm (updated 20 04 24)

I painted an AB Figures SS Pak40 crew when I first painted the SS platoon but they were evicted from their base when I needed a normal Heer crew to man the gun for a campaign. I've been meaning to fix that and part of the project that led to the extra jump off points was to do that.

This is the AB crew with a Zvezda Pak40. For the price I find all the Zvezda guns well detailed and certainly good enough for the game table.

Some beautiful work here. I see you use a different paint scheme for the British/Commonwealth vehicles and US ones. You must have an airbrush as there are some wonderful color variations.

Haha, indeed I do, several in fact. You’ll see from the blog post that it’s because I had a spare PzIV that I was able to be this extravagant and cut one in half.

Just wow.  A dug in tank that looks the part.  The next logical step would be to use some of those extra infantry that you must have lying around to make dug in markers.

have you considered using the discarded legs (with a tarp. covering the 'bodies')

Quite a bit of terrain building happening at the moment. For the Operation Martlet campaign for Chain of Command I've made a few new bits of Normandy terrain. These two farm buildings are MDF models from Sarissa. The first is Decoster's House and while it's intended for the early 19th century it works well right through to the 20th:





This second one is the same. It's part of the Haye Sainte farm but would work as a stable across several centuries:





I scratch built a base and some walls so that I could make up a walled farm compound but keep the buildings free for other uses. It uses the Sarissa Decoster's House and a barn from Charlie Foxtrot:
