Even though this scenario was in Africa about 1750 we figured based on the technology levels and fighting styles we were not that far off using these rules.

We are also using a slight rule modification. When a unit fails to activate, it does not curse the whole side to stop activating. If a unit fails, it of course does nothing. The next unit to attempt to activate then has a +1 on the die roll requirement. That modifier remains and is cumulative. If a second unit fails, the modifier is now +2 etc. We like it.
