Just finished my first VC.




And made some VC Bunkers.

Played 'Mourir Pour L'Indochine' today, high hopes but a bit of a disappointment

The twigs came from Hobbycraft in the UK.
£1 per bag.
First time of used them, but great to work with.
Might get some more now.

A classic case of trying to get too much in and forgetting it's a small unit action.
The not so good side we can discus when we next meet up, on the plus side there were a couple of mechanisms I'm going to utilise for our currents mods to the WWII rules  Dave and I use for Indo China.

C.  As for Mourir Pour L'Indochine, I've been on the fence about bagging a copy.  I may do that now, and see for myself what they're about.  Hmm...

A repeat Indochina game; similar terrain but this time using the ongoing development of our WWII rules for Indo china.
The scenario had a supply column guarded by a Moroccan squad heading up the road to a Foreign Legion outpost; a machine gun team guarded the bridge but the road was probably mined somewhere and Viet Minh local forces were know to be operating in the jungle. The VM were at platoon strength with 1 squad at each of 3 rally points which were also tunnel entrances; primary objective destroy the column, secondary objective overrun the outpost.

The initial few turns had the VM moving out through the jungle and taking up positions while the column rolled on and not triggering any mines (so far!)
Just as the last vehicle (the half track) got onto the bridge the fight was initiated by the VM support squad (the one with the lmg's) who oped fire from their position in the jungle opposite the machine gun post. Several Moroccans were downed and one of the machine gun team wounded but their return fire quietened down the VM and the column rolled on.

The shoot out between the support squad and the machine team favoured the Legionnaires and the VM were forced into inactivity as wounds were tended which gave the machine gunners time to tend theirs and move the dead body of the gunner out of the way 
From just behind the support team the small HQ element crested the small rise in the ground and let fly with an RPG which disabled the half track and forced those that could to bail out.
Almost immediately afterward the supply truck hit a mine and was left a burning wreck - barbeque mon Amie?
Elsewhere the two VM assault squads were in position, one in jungle just a bit further up the road and another across the river from the outpost; the river position was a bad tactical decision, there were no real targets to line up on and wading the river would reveal them and make them sitting ducks - it would take a while for the penny to drop for the VM commander.
