Pulling away from the burning truck the Greyhound came parallel to the assault squad in the jungle and a shower of grenades were launched at the armoured car, not all were successful but enough damage was done to halt the vehicle and suppress its crew. On a comedy note, one grenade did bounce back and explode at the feet of the thrower and his mate leaving them badly wounded 
The downside to the grenade attack of course was that it revealed the squad to the outpost Legionnaires who started to turn out from the house to close in and the lmg in the watchtower reeked some havoc. After a brief fire fight with the Moroccans who had debussed, which killed the Moroccan sergeant, this squad faded back into the jungle taking most of their wounded with them.

Back at the bridge the machine gun team was back into action and the assault squad decided to call it a day, they just had too many wounded to be effective.
And really that was about it, the game was essentially played out.
In terms of objectives the VM had certainly achieved the primary objective, the supplies in the truck were destroyed and two other vehicles significantly damaged, the secondary objective was always going to be a stretch so no shame in not achieving it.
In terms of losses the VM lost 5 killed and left 2 wounded behind  the Moroccans had 3 killed and 1 Legionnaire was killed, both sides had a number of walking wounded.

The rules played well and the mods that we are trialling for the period are so far standing up to the test so good news.

Have you had a go at making thatched roofs with synthetic fur?  I ask because I want to try it myself.

I have David, also tried; Scouring pads, Terry toweling face cloths & Sisal string.
I liked the Terry Towel method best.  Get dark brown ones, it saves a LOT of paint.
Effectively, once the thinned wood glue has set, you just need to dry brush.

I’ve been using a foam sheet of material that can be bought at hobbycraft at £1 per sheet.
I bought it in yellow, then fitted it and painted it.
I think it’s effective as a thatch ?
Btw they do it in brown too, so might save a little painting ?

It’s pretty effective Bob I’ll warrant.   Good find mate.

However I want to try the fur method, I was wondering what length nap on the fur was best.  No worries though.

Very interesting battle report.  Well done!

FYI, in case you didn't see it, the May issue of Wargames Illustrated has an article on the Indochina War, covering the 1947 battles in Operation Lea north of Hanoi.  Might be good fodder to use for your WW2 Indochina mods...
