Last few GZG Full Thrust figs painted
« on: April 28, 2022, 03:23:00 PM »
Part of my continuing effort to accept that I'm not really a minis gamer any more has been cleaning up the unpainted figure pile, and this is the latest result.  It's been almost thirty years (marginally more than half my lifetime) since I haven't had any Full Thrust figs waiting to be done, but this is the end of them.

More images and commentary on my long-dead blog here:

Good job on the salvage ship, and I am enjoying looking through your images on the blog... had read through the Full Thrust rules years ago but never picked up any of their ships.
If my wife asks, I only spent half as much as I wanted to...

Good job on the salvage ship, and I am enjoying looking through your images on the blog... had read through the Full Thrust rules years ago but never picked up any of their ships.

The official rules are available as free downloads off the GZG site, as are several different re-writes and updated versions by the fan community.  Probably teh best nexus site for links and expanded material is Dean Gundberg's Full Thrust Resource Page over here:  http://fullthrust.star-ranger.com/

Obviously I'm fond of the GZG miniatures range, although Full Thrust has always encouraged players to design their own ships and fleets and use whatever miniatures you like rather than sticking solely to "official" miniatures.  For me that's a tremendous selling point - a sort of antithesis to (say) GW's modern approach to the miniatures gaming hobby.

They look amazing! No doubt it felt good gettting them all painted up after all that time.
Waiter, my soup is giggling.

No, no it did not.  Did you even read the post on my blog?  These are very likely the last things I'll ever do from GZG, and that makes me very sad.  The days of regular international orders are over for me, and while that may be very much a selfish first world problem it still pains me to close a chapter of my life that lasted so many years.

Great work as usual mate!

Sorry to hear they will likely be your last. I have missed seeing you around here and have been wondering how you are doing. You have been something of an inspiration for me.

No, I didn't. Makes me a little sad that you've taken a compliment and an innocent comment about clearing the leadpile ( a not uncommon topic here) in such a way.

They look amazing as do all your painted models...

It's a shame you have stopped doing it. If I may ask, is it cost or other factors (such as not having a need - do any of us really need these things) which have stopped your orders/painting.
