Simply fabulous.

Despite being part of a heroic disaster for the colonial side, this was all tremendous fun. A truly gorgeous set-up to play with, a quick and handy games system, and the whole thing kept moving along in great style by the good Captain. If only I hadn't been given the comedy dice that would only roll ones and twos... It would have been nice if my Highlanders had managed to achieve something beyond getting drunk on whiskey in the blockhouse to emerge blinking into the teeth of a total massacre, but when those dastardly Indians picked off the Colonel at long range we surely knew that the game was up.

I take some comfort from knowing that the baggage was looted from the settlers actually contained piles of smallpox-infected blankets (hey, I'm looking at the long game here), but really this was an absolute romp home for Bullshott and Fastolfrus. Tremendous fun all round though, and at least it ended before the fort was reduced to complete ash...

Thanks!

It was a brilliant game Richard thanks.
I had a great time.
Even though all my country men died gloriously keeping up the good name of the 78th foot.
Seeing the figures and the terrain in the flesh was amazing and they were ten times better than seen previously in photographs
These are the photos I have of the game
Settlers at the start

First Settler dies

Charge of the 78th

Settlers reach the safety of the fort

Great game and I had loads of fun.
Thanks again Richard

Thanks for the extra photos Mac!  I am green with envy over here on the State side seeing all these wonderful historical games being played.  We have a small group who does play hist. games at our shop, but most play the EE games here.

Someone snuck in a goblin archer onto the game board, right there in the middle!
(Sorry, Richard, couldn't resist. My gushing praise is in another thread.) :)

Heh heh... No worries Peder. I knew someone would complain about my more fanciful Indian warpaint schemes!  ;)

Thanks Colin for the excellent additional photos of the game. Great to see them.

Cheers

What can I say that isn't horribly redundant by this point? Serves me right for turning up late I suppose. It is just fantastic any way you look at it.

What a nice table and seems like a lot of fun.

@Westfalia Chris: Sad to here the bad karma has followed you to Britain.  :'(  Maybe it changes if you return next year.

Ah, don´t mention it. I´m used to it by now, and coincidentally, I actually won the Stargate Game I played earlier that day, so basically, it´s all even in the end.  :D

Only thing that bothers me is that I totally did NOT do that lovely cannon justice. Once you get a gun, and manage to blast the countryside, but not the enemy.  lol

This is the kind of game, table board, miniatures and design that appears one time and another in this forum and that make me try to improve my own games a little more each time.

Thank you for sharing your project with us! :-* :-*

You know, I am sure that countryside has been giving a lot of lip lately. I am sure it was a well deserved lesson for it.

Another BLAM triumph! Congratulations on your award too Captain, very well deserved. You have inspired me to keep my half finished FIW project and try to complete it instead of selling it off :)

Absolutely well deserved. :)

Without the doubt the best game I have had the priviledge of playing in for a long time. I really, really, really enjoyed it from the painting, to the look of the table and the very well conceived scenario. Brilliant. ;D
