Thanks all - I appreciate the comments (and yes the barn is versatile).
You could do some simple wooden crosses instead of actual stones. Easier and a bit more fitting with the setting.
Good idea - and I saw such a scene in House of Guinness last night

And onto next steps.....
..... when I wrote that the Kirk would be the last terrain item for this project, I overlooked that I'd also purchased some of the OshiroModel Terrain standing stones, for a hint of earlier times.

Also on the table are the next units, converted, cleaned and awaiting primer. Mostly Bloody miniatures but a few Larger Bicorne plus some Renegade are also included for a bit of variety. Unit types are as per Pikeman's Lament.
6 x Trotters (basically, light horse)

6 x Commanded Shotte

3 x Aggressive Forlorn Hope, which merged with 3 figures previously in the command unit, to create an extra unit (I'm not yet sure about the wounded figure and he might end up being swapped out with an alternate from the 1600 James 1st [or 6th, depending where you're located] project mentioned at the end of this post).

Additions to complete the Aggressive Forlorn Hope command group - a dummer (from Bicorne, Bloody, Warlord and unknown bits), and two aides, one map reading and the other recuperating:

A mounted alternate for the Laird (yes he has 3 feathers in his cap whereas the foot version only has 2 but I'm trying not to get hung up on it!), the lairds daughter, and animals to be stolen.

Once these are done I have a mere 54 figures left to complete the project (12 x pike, 2 x 12 x shotte, 6 x commanded shot, 6 x mounted lancers, 6 x mounted trotters).
In other news, I've also purchased the earlier 16th C figures recently released by Bloody Miniatures (plus some extras). These will go into a separate project so in due course I'll likely start a different thread. I'm presently writing rules for a dark and dirty 1600s alleyways and bawdy houses game that, in terms of playability, I want to be moody and claustrophobic like my Aliens game from some fifteen (15!) years ago.
