Thanks guys
I am liking the stairs a bit more now. I think a hand rail is a good idea. I'll just need to work out how to do it

Anyway first off I would like to apologise for all the posts but I am finding that it is helping push the project on if I try to get things done most days and post some pictures of the work.
Also it is extremely quite at work at the moment so posting on here gives me something to do

Started some of the detail last night.
Started of drawing a grid on some thin plastic card, 10 mm x 5 mm rectangles. Used a sharp point to push a rivet at each corner of each plate on the top row but only two rivets at the lower edge of the other two plates
Like this.

Scored all the lines and snapped out the plates

Over lapping them I then glued the plates on to the side of the flying bridge, with the plate that has four rivets at the top like this.

Used PVA between the wood and the plastic card and plastic glue for between the plates to make it all secure.
To end up looking like this

The idea is for the flying bridge to look as if it has scale/laminar metal armour riveted in place. Trying to achieve a VSF rivet look but still keep the sort of medieval Chinese look I am after with the army.
Only a couple of hundred plates more to do

What do you think?
