Oathmark wood elves *UPDATE* unit added and army pictures
« on: 01 October 2022, 11:26:47 AM »
Over the summer, I have been slowly working on my Oathmatk wood elf army, inspired by my first love: the 1996 GW Wood Elves. Even repainted my old treemen to use as either ogre linebreakers or trolls.

Lovely work, you've certainly captured the wood elf vibe.

I like those! Great concept and the choices of palette works very well. The basing and movement trays fit the theme perfectly, too. I will be watching this thread!

What a wonderful army! 8)

Like you, my first WHFB love were the old Wood Elves. As good as the last plastic iteration (before the end of the Old World) was, I've always had a soft spot for civilized elves who happen to live in the woods, versus the completely feral/Wild Hunt type of elves that came after.

The Wood Elf army book actually was the first WHFB book I ever purchased! They really reflected the way I imagined how the Wood Elves from The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings would look. So I really like the uniformity of your rank and file troops, while they still retain some form of individuality; very reminiscent of the nineties indeed.

My absolute favourite unit were the Waywatchers. Ghillied up ninja-elves; what's not to like? :D Will you be doing those too?

Can't wait to see what you'll be doing with the cavalry; should be interesting for sure. I'll be watching this space...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Those are really spiffy! I loved the old Grenadier figures too.
Jane! Stop this crazy thing!
