WW2 project in 1/35

And a new one: a Hungarian pilot, I will use him as a downed pilot to rescue. In the battle of Ilovskoye even the pilots fought on the ground though.

Some civilians: railway workers. Figures by Preiser, not too good quality, but the colour scheme sells them.

I made new holding boxes for the figures, so I managed to take a photo from all of them together. A perfect closing for the year

Yep, it is not just ww2 Germans any more What I still miss is plastic infantry kits for Hungary (at least the Hungarian tanks and tankers are available in plastic) and the Balkans nations.

I started to take a look into my box of old Germans.
For some I decided they just need a new base, so I quickly rebased them:


For some I will need some repainting:


And there are a couple dozen I will rebuild to a degree. Mostly with new equipment and heads. We will see.

Never considered 1/35th scale for WW2 but I can see the attraction for skirmishes in the larger scale.

As you see, they are on 30mm base, so basically you can do anything with them you do with 28mm ones.

They look great. You can obviously do much more detailed work on a 1/35 scale figure that you can on a 28mm.

Yes, 28mm is maybe the best compromise between army size and model detail, but 1/35 is the scale where you can represent all the personal equipment without simplification or abstraction.
