Rebasing/reviving New Kingdom Egyptian army progress
« on: November 16, 2022, 06:08:30 PM »
Hi there
Couple years back finally began getting an NKE army in 28mm, originally for Hail Caesar, so 24 man units etc. Instead of doing it DBx basing, I had a 'brainwave' and decided to go sabot basing. Bit of a disaster really, but enough of that. I let the project slide a little because I was so demoralised, but with encouragement from local gamers, got back to it and began rebasing DBx style for ADLG etc.

So, this is it so far, took a fair whack of the weekend but the missus is away. Still a bit to do, highlighting/drybrushing and get those edges painted.

Still a fair bit to go, especially chariots, but I'm happier with them now and look forward to returning to the project once I finish those Napoleon in Egypt dudes.

Cheers!

They're all Foundry but for the single Warlord chariot.

What they said! The rebased army looks quite sharp.

Nice work! The Perry sculpted Foundry Biblical ranges are still the best around.

Thanks all!

I'm just finishing these off over the weekend, in little batches. So here's some Nubian bowmen in close-up. Sorry about the focus going, looked better on my mobile. Will take some more as I go.

Cheers!

I love your desert/arid basing- it looks very natural. What are the base sizes for DBA in 28mm?

DBA in 28mm uses 60mm wide bases, depth 20mm for close order, 30mm for loose order, 40mm for mounted, 80mm for chariots

They look really good, I especially like the cow hide pattern on the shields.

Very nice looking additions.

Question: How do you sell sand to people who live in a desert?
Answer: Get them into wargaming.
