Its here! Well, almost! I was lucky enough to get sent an early copy to write an article for WI and here is my review https://wilgut.blogspot.com/2022/11/nevermind-billhooks-deluxe.html

I have a bad case of prescient nostalgia. The future's not what it used to be.

Excellent review indeed Mike, as one would expect from a leading exponent of the game.

Always good to read an informed view from someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. Informative, constructive, thorough, and all about the publication - not all about the reviewer. That’s what makes for a decent review.

;)

I’ve had my pre-release copy of the book for a few days now, and keep going back to it to read more of the detail in the new setting-specific sections. I echo everything you say in your review. It’s a great publication, and does immense justice to an excellent set of rules.

I have this mighty tome in the post as I write so it's nice to have a bit of insight into it's contents before it arrives.
Cheers!

Having never been exposed to these rules but interested in them, how many players per side can be accommodated?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,
We have played a few games with a couple of players on each side with no problem at all but Giles of Shed Wars has played all the significant battles of Wot R using up to 4 -5 players per side and some 1500 figures. Here is a link to his blog, it's well worth a read  http://shedwars.blogspot.com/2020/09/never-mind-billhooks-shed-wars-playtest.html

And here is a link to his refight of the battle of Towton  http://shedwars.blogspot.com/2021/06/battle-of-towton-28mm-wargame-part-2.html

Thanks for the links, Wil.  I had seen some of his reports earlier.

I would say that depending on the size of the table 4-5 players could be accomodated. As a rule of thumb I would suggest a force of 150-200 points per player
