Waterloo in 28mm - My journey log

My January was dominated by travel and assembly of the remaining (hundreds) of horses, as well as a few hundred figures for other games (SAGA and Hail Caesar). Still, I did manage a bit more progress for the Prussians. I give you Oberstleutnant von Brandenstein, commanding the 1. Pommersche Landwehr Regiment. The regiment only had its 1st and 2nd Battalion on the field as the third was detached to guard the baggage. I used Front Rank which only offers two poses and a single command set.

Over the holidays I have also composed the dedicated page for the Prussians. This is now launched as a "work in progress" here:

You will have to scroll down to find the painted units which are all part of IV Korps. As I usually do, I added the description for every unit while I assembled them, with lots of placeholders until each unit gets painted. That allows me to note down the manufacturer, choice of flag, etc. per unit - info that I will likely have forgotten by the time I get around to painting them . Enjoy!

Really great painting as always! Interesting to know that you also manage to work on other projects in parallel! Makes these chaps even more impressive!
Side question - Which army are you building for SAGA?

For Saga, I have an assortment of Age of Vikings warbands with a few still left to paint. I then won a Roman warband during a tournament which  still needs a few units. On a whim, I also bought some boxes from Fireforge to assemble an Ordenstaat (Teutonic Knights) and Mongol warband since they are both such a unique  departure from the Age of Viking era. Then my local club has jumped into Age of Chivalry with the new release so I followed with a bunch of Perry boxes. Assembling English, Frenchg/Burgundian/Free Companies, Swiss, Condottieri, and York/Lancaster warbands right now. All-in about 750 figures to paint which will nicely counterbalance the drab Prussians with some flamboyant colours

Here we have 2. Pommersche (Pommeranian) Landwehr Regiment with three battalions. Oberstleutnant von Pawels is in command. The figures are all 3D printed and about as basic as it gets (except one metal leader because the print failed).

Hehe!! I played in the UK's first AoC tournement the other weekend (traveled over from the UEU as my best friend organised it!) AoC is a really great expansion and there are a lot of things to learn. I took the Swiss and got hammered. They are a tough faction to play correctly But still lots of fun to play. Are you going to post a new tread for your Saga minis?

Another month mostly dedicated to SAGA, but I managed to paint one more regiment of Landwehr. This is the 2. Neumaerkische Landwehr Regiment with three battalions and Major von Schmalensee commanding. These are mostly Foundry figures which - while better than the 3D prints - are definitely not exceptional either (or particularly varied for that matter). Two more regiment to go for IV Korps and then it is on to those sweet Calpe figures for I and II Korps (and lots of cavalry...).
