On to 3. Cavalry Brigade commanded by GM von Sydow. The first unit is the 1. Neumärkische Landwehr Kavallerie Regiment. They had shortened shakos so I just trimmed them down from standard Warlord figures.

Beautiful cavalry. The shortened shakos look a little funny. They are brilliantly painted. Wasn't there a Neumark Landwehr cavalry unit with stovepipe shakos? Looking forward to more.

The shortened shako was roughly half the height of the traditional version. It definitely looks odd, but seems to be historically accurate. The stovepipe shako was worn by some of the Kurmark cavalry. Those will come later when I tackle I and II Korps.

I do realize that I forgot the little flags though for the Neumark unit. Fixing today!

Updated picture with lance pennons!

I also finished the 2. Schlesisches Landwehr Kavallerie Regiment - with pennons - which will be posted once the basing dries. This brings me to just a single regiment left to paint to finish the entire IV Korps force (3. Silesian in their pretty Polish uniforms). Unfortunately, I seem to be three horses short for that last regiment... One massive order from Perry - to "save on shipping" - later, these should now hopefully arrive in a few weeks. Until then, I will switch over to II Korps cavalry to continue the "mounted" theme.

As promised, here is 2. Schlesiches Landwehr Kavallerie Regiment, with pennons of course :).

Except the last regiment with missing horses, I am now done with IV Korps. On to II Korps with their cavalry leading the way.
