I am using a balsa strip cutter to cut the basic parts.

My experience of one of those £"(&ing things is that they should be called 'fingertip strip cutters'...

Looking good!

Thanks again for the nice words all.

Took me some time to learn how to use it without slicing the hell out of myself.

I managed to finish up the other three sides this afternoon.  I have included Tim the Enchanter for scale.

Good thing I repaired the excavator toy I am using, otherwise you'd be finishing before I glued two bits together! I like the way this is going  8) 8)

Thanks for the kind comments all.
I finished the first two faces.  The sun dial is just some sheets of mat board and stencil paper scribes for the grooves, a punched sun, brass letters and some brass wire.

The long count calendar is not great but it will do.  It is made of scribed foamex with some 15mm skulls from CP models.

These are glued in place now.

Finished the mechanical clock face.  Unfortunately my circle cutter exploded into my thumb when I was cutting out the last large circle on the segmented backing.  I managed not to bleed on the paper but pretty much hit the highlights everywhere else.  Off to the pictures.

Finished the last clock face. It took me two attempts.  The first I finished up last night and I tried to scribe the spiral onto the cylinder and was not real happy with any of the attempts that I tried.  Here is what I came up with.

On the second I glued a thin wire and spiraled that and it came up much better.  I also made it a bit more ornate and I think it came out better.

Here is what it looks like in place.

I have finished most of the basic construction and now it is off to gap filling and adding more details.
I added ramps to the inside walls of the dice tower and primed the interior walls as I can't paint them later.  Glued the walls together and now It can stand on its own four legs.

The roof is still not attached as I have not decided if I am going to embellish it more.
The dice tray is going to be a pool.  Four different symbols and stonework was scribed into the base.  The pyramid will send the dice tumbling out from under the tower.  That was made with stencil paper and I glued three progressively smaller pyramids to nest inside this one to strengthen the tip and edges.  The coins were made with a variety of punches.

Here is the whole thing dry fitted together.

Hope you like.
