28mm Post Apocalyptic miniature without guns
« on: February 10, 2023, 05:09:24 PM »
Any suggestions for 28mm post apocalyptic fighters with more "primitive" weapons, bows, crossbows, javelins etc?

Some of the classic copplestone Future Wars Savages from Grenadier/Em-4 were armed with melee weapons or bows
Fairly sure you could do something kitbashing of the the various frostgrave/ghost archipelago kits  to give you dudes in rags with crude melee weapons/repurposed tools as weapons

Crooked Dice has some repurposed figures with melee weapons.

And one of the originals.

Studio Miniatures has a not-Daryl, with crossbow.

Iirc, a fair number of Ramshackle Games figures are without firearms. Also their Nuclear Renaissance rules work very well for a post apoc setting where firearms are rare or absent.

Have a look at Studio Miniatures - they do loads of zombie post apoc figures, including quite a few "not" versions from The Walking Dead

Hasslefree, perhaps?
A good example of my problem, about 175 products, only 1 bow. :(
Why is there this assumption with figure designers that gunsmiths and ammo factories will survive the apocalypse in huge numbers?

If you're happy with the conversion route, I converted a lot of the Foundry Street Violence figures more years ago than I care to admit.

Some pictures of a few of them in one of my old blog posts link

Looking back on them, they were all metal figures and I was carving out a lot of very fiddly stuff. I'm slightly surprised I still have all my fingers o_o

Take a look at The Assault Group. They have a line of street rioters and such. Also, Battle Valor Games has picked up the old Sgt. Major Miniatures line. For every one of their factions, they usually have a pack armed with firearms and one with melee weapons.

Sample pack from The Assault Group:
