Thanks everyone

It might seem like things had gone quiet over Christmas but I’ve been working on a lengthy paint queue…
I picked up an army of Imperials on fleabay recently for considerably less than the unassembled plastic price, and I managed to get a whole bunch repainted over the Christmas period…as you can see the original paint job while quite funky isn’t exactly Imperial regulation…

Some TLC, rebasing and a whole bunch of white paint later, and I’ve got the following…

I know what you are thinking…”hey didn’t you already have a whole bunch of stormtroopers?”… Indeed…but now I have a whole bunch more

{GROUP SHOT}

I’m going to work upon an 8 man squad system (technically I know they could be 9-10 strong but I’m factoring in some attrition).
Each squad will include a Sergeant, a Corporal, and a heavy blaster (which in some squads might be carried by the corporal).
4 squads plus a LT & a sergeant makes a platoon….4 platoons makes a company ….so I’m roughly halfway to a company.
In terms of rank markings, there seems to be some disagreements between sources over pauldron colours, but I’m going with the following:
Lieutenant- Orange
Sergeant - White
Corporal - Black
Attached Specialists - Blue (Sniper), Yellow (Artillery/mortar), Red (Flamer)
“Chief” (equivalent to a sergeant-major) can also be red …normally see one in a company, commanded by a Captain (who will be wearing the all black tunic etc rather than armour).
Some sources say that a “squad leader” is orange, but that doesn’t seem to leave any way of distinguishing between a Platoon/squad commander…I’ve also seen references to black pauldrons can also be worn by all enlisted, which again, would just complicate things….
Guess I’ll need some squad-sized movement trays for larger games
