These are Oathmark goblin wolf riders combined with GW goblin heads and arms so they fit in with the rest of my collection.  Hoping to get these guys done by Friday.

That's an interesting approach. I have oodles of old goblins, so keeping the wolf riders compatible would be nice. I shall remember this when I get around to doing them (focusing on skeletons just now, another good subject for contrast paints and slap-chop :D)

Because there seemed some interest here is a quick size comparison between an old GW wold Rider, an Oathmark/GW conversion and a new (Aos) GW wolf Rider

Trying to speed up production this week had me going for some low hanging fruit. I'm trying to run the Frostgrave Thaw of the Liche Lord campaign this summer and need to beef up my beasteary.

So for figs # 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 I present four stands of giant rats and two war dogs. All the miniatures are by Reaper with the rats being Bones Black and the dogs being old school metal.

Miniatures #16, 17, and 18 are three more quick beasts for Frostgrave. An Ice Toad, a Frost Gorilla and a Snow Leopard. All figures are Reaper metals.

For miniature #19 I've got a fig I picked up on Ebay about 20 years ago. He's been sitting in my pile waiting for the right time/game/army to come along and I've decided to use him as my Liche lord in my upcoming Frostgrave campaign.

He was surprisingly easy to paint and I went for a bold scheme with the red bat wings and purple cloak. You can tell he's important because of the sheer number of skulls.

A good goal, all the best with the coming weeks.

Loving the old GW kit!

That's an old WHFB character named Krell if I recall correctly :)

Great work; you're really churning them out; keep up the momentum!  8)

+++EDIT+++ Actually, he's not Krell; I looked it up. He's 'just' a regular(?) Wight (number 4 to be exact). In my defense: he's got a very similar pose...  :D

One of the large projects I currently have going is a 28mm Bretonian army using Fireforge plastics. I'm using their Teutonic range as the base models and swapping in parts from various kits to "fantasy" them up a bit.

The later editions of the Bretonian army book introduced the concept of Grail Pilgrims, fanatics who follow around the Grail Knights and hurl themselves into battle to further the quests of these renowned heroes. I used the Teutonic infantry kit and did some head swaps with Oathmark human cavalry and turned their shields upside down (which is consistent with the original GW kit).

I painted them in a very drab scheme to contrast them with the rest of the army which is a riot of color and heraldry (a unit of knights is up next in the que). This simple scheme highlights their devotion to the quest and shows how they've renounced ties to lord and family. I weathered the models with pastel powders to give them that road worn look and used Ryza Rust on their armor and weapons. Overall they are a lot plainer then the original GW kit, but I think they convey the spirit of the unit. Miniatures #20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 are the first six of twenty-four.

They look good! I like the inverted shields too.
Great productivity so far!

I think I may use this technique on my Nids project, but replace the contrast with washes…

Miniatures # 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 are six more Grail Pilgrims. There are twenty-four in total for a unit of 20 in Oathmark and 2 units of 12 in Dragon Rampant. Next up is a unit of Knights of the Realm which should make for a colorful diversion from the drab infantry.

I can't get over how good the wolf riders look.

I obsessed over whether the wolves looked the part, with the fur and join down the middle. Now I feel it's the fairly generic (boring to me!!) riders that put me off. I'll just have to steal this idea!
