The Army of the King of Scots 1688
« on: 30 May 2023, 10:35:49 AM »
I’m parading my Scots soldiers for 1688 on my blog.  There are Horse, Foot and Guns and Highlanders.  Fifteen units in all.

Everything is based for Beneath the Lily Banners.

The figures are from a mix of 15mm manufacturers and to my eye they work nicely together.

If it is of interest here is the link.

Looking forward to that - don't forget King Billy's Papal banner!

I never knew he got a banner, thought he settled for a blessing and political support!

The other William got a banner.

It's a great pub quiz question.  Which two men of the same forename successfully invaded England with the support of the Pope?

I'd never noticed the coincidence until now.

I have a feeling it was tactfully left in the baggage, so as not to offend all the Protestant troops in his army.  Always had fun explaining it to the "loyalists" when I worked on building sites.

They look good.  Will they go into 1689 and fight at Killicrankie-o?
