Quite remarkable as always, they appear to have stepped out of an oil painting into the round.

I am surprised, though, aren't the golden cross and choughs on blue St Edward's arms?  And also used by Richard II if memory serves?  Did they come to Scotland by some strange route, or were they shared by someone else?
Now what is this whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage?

They’re the arms of St Margaret of Scotland. and, confusingly identical to those of Edward the Confessor. They were both related (uncle) and she was originally Margaret of Wessex. In the same year Henry VIII also took the banner of Edward the Confessor to France. confusing stuff ;D

This. Your figures always remind me of period illustrations come to life.

Here's the recent unit of Scots Pike based up and combined with the previous unit.

I've gathered my thoughts on the development of the unit (as well as more photographs) over on my blog https://stuartsworkbench.blogspot.com/2021/06/scots-pike-part-ii.html

Enjoy  :)
