Anatoli's 15mm Polish Early War army completed [Update 23/6]
« on: March 03, 2011, 05:17:33 PM »
Fired up this project for real today as I finished some AT guns and a few antitank rifle team, tanks, more artillery and heaps of infantry will follow as I receive stuff I've ordered. I'm awaiting a can of Tamiya matt varnish, so nothing has been matt varnished just yet.

Really, really nice 8)

Who make the AT Gun?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Thanks  :)

Those are the Battlefront wz.36 Light AT guns. Anti tank rifle teams are made by OldGlory/TrueNorth.

Somehow Maelstrom Games managed to deliver me my Tank Company within 3 days, shipping to Sweden from UK within 3 days is a damn record. They beat their old by 1 day. Love those guys!

So I painted my first "test" vehicles, these are the first tanks in 15mm that I've painted so I wanted to start out with one of each typ to get the feel of the models and see how my 28mm tank palette would apply on 15mm.

More pictures on the blog (and the questions whether to base or not to base the armor....?)

Damn I was going to put the 15mm tankette next to my 28mm tankette just to show the huge difference! Will take pictures tomorrow  :)

Yeah 15mm is tiny and fiddly, surely an "acquired taste". So far I'm probably much slower a 15mm painter than I am a 28mm painter. It is a very different kind of experience, and takes a bit of time getting used to.

But hey, what other system would allow be to replay the September campaign on a larger scale  :)
Really looking forward to give my 15mm Poles a go next weekend against Widgrens Germans.

I saw the new great looking 28mm Polish releases over at Warlord Games, too bad I have blown my budget already - will get the bofors gun next month though!

Those are lovely.

At first when I saw your pictures of the at guns and the tank rifles I didn´t know if they were your 28mm figures photographed with some bad light or some new figures. :D

The question is if the 15mm Polish troops have recruited giants to defend their homeland or if your Sotr troops have recruited Lilliputians.

Now give me a comparison picture of the tank rifles teams of the different scales…

Haha, comparison shots of the Anti Tank rifles will follow  lol

My "PeterPig" FT-17 tanks arrived today so I put aside the artillery and painted up a platoon of these very cool tanks. More pictures and info on my blog as usual:

First half of my 75mm artillery platoon, and some "preparation" pictures showing how I cut away those thick cast bases of the artillerymen and simply glued them onto the plastic bases using superglue.

The 75mm artillery platoon is fully painted and can be seen on my blog.

I also added a bit of information on Polish tanks and armor during the September campaign as well as a bit of information about the 10th motorized cavalry brigade and their commander Stanislaw Maczek - which I learned from a Polish documentary I saw a few days ago.

The contents of the documentary explained in a very good way why the Polish OoB in the Blitzkrieg book have so few choices when it comes to adding armor.

Thanks Aldramelech - I still cross my fingers hoping that Warlord will release a 1/56 7TP tank.

About the train, haha just finished listening to the What Would Patton Do (WWPD) podcast and the guys talked about how they try to resist the train themselves  lol

I would love to have it, it really damn expensive in points - but the rules seem to justify the cost. Though I would never be able to afford that piece - think the WWPD guys said it was like £100  :o
