After over a year of admiring your knights I've now got some to start on.

Then you post your marvelous Troll conversions and now I want to rework my Tolkienesque Trolls.

Thanks Tap, that's very kind. There are so many wonderful figures to paint with so many different styles for each person's preference. We are spoilt for choice!

I keep eyeing off this beast https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/1458841876/troll-jotun-scandinavian-giant-troll?click_key=a2923db52fdeea6f5fe69eb9688f046d9046a542%3A1458841876&click_sum=97b801eb&ref=shop_home_recs_6&sts=1&variation0=4358932024

Those trolls are amazing - I really like your conversions and the paint jobs sell them nicely too.

OOh thank you Odo, the conversions are only small as i really liked the bulk and design of the LotR trolls. I enjoyed being a bit looser with the trolls, a basecoat, a wash, a stipple, a drybrush and then just some detailing. It was nice getting away from the careful layering of the bright colour bretonnians.

Lovely trollses! We'll have to tee up a game so you can get overrun by them!

Thanks Pete, indeed! It's been a while between games.

Wanting to flesh out some bretonnian Foot knights but not keen on the new sprues, scale creep and GamesWorkshop prices I picked up a few sprues from the War Library. A great little business in Australia that parts out sprues rather than needing to get a whole box.

I picked up a few of the Perry Miniatures 100Year Foot Knights, both French and English, and had at it. I mixed in some spare arms for variety and added some helmet decorations from banner toppers and Empire/bretonnian helms.

They storm into the dungeon to push back the goblin menace.

Thanks for looking
Cheers
Matt

No way, they're actually done now? I won't be facing grey and brown ghosts?  lol

In all seriousness, they look great. Can't wait to smash 'em up!

Right! I did feel bad/dirty for fielding unpainted miniatures. That can stop now thankfully.

Knock-em-down and hammer em around.

Not sure why my guys always end up lying prone on the floor rolling left and right fensing off blows for turns on end.

My theory is that all dungeons need a minotaur, so I found this plastic minotaur from DnD wizKids and think it works perfect for a Greek labyrinth or as a beastman champion. Very easy to put together and paint up in the same colours as my dungeon tiles.

I found some very basic scenic trees in a charity shop for $1 each. I took a while to get them up to scratch soaking the foliage in paint and modpodge to make them more durable and stop them turning into a winter tree in no time. I added some hot glue roots, and then detailed it a bit further with Greenstuff on the trunk and over the hot glue roots.

Bijorn is directing the woodsman to start cutting down the Grove.

WooLooLoo

Having a look at the wonderful shield maidens over at Brother Vinni, I found these 3 fantastic figures. His resin miniatures are very crisp, some of the joints need a little work to fit smoother or add in some GS to the gap, but he has a fantastic pop culture bravery which I appreciate. I bought some of his fallout figures before. Every army needs some woolooloo! I couldn't resist, and liked the strong poses of the not moses and viking.

Next up are Brother Vinni Shield Maidens, they come in two flavours, axes and swords.

Cheers
Matt

Thanks Pete, nice to have some traction and movement in the grey mountain that's for sure!

Next up are some Games Workshop Vampire Counts bat's. 3 vampire bat's and 3 ghoul monster things. They were some 2nd hand minis I rescued from MOAB bring and buy. I avoided black and pushed in some dark blue and burnt sienna for the darks which I think make for a nicer rich black.

Cheers
Matt
