Atmospheric Llama shot!

Llamas just outside Machu Pichu itself (llamas being mountain animals and Machu Pichu actually being in the rain forest, they're just there for the tourists)

Splendid - thanks! I've just started work on a few llamas - these pics are perfectly timed.

I would not paint your Llamas atmospherically Oxiana as they will just look black on the table ;D ;D

There is a Llama farmer just down the road from here, I often pass it walking the dogs.

Straight off the paint table:

I've just started getting stuck into my first unit of Inca warriors - I realised that all I've painted so far are non-combatants. Still, if anyone wants to come up with a scenario based around three llamas, a mummy, a guy with knotted string, a woman with corn cobs and a little girl with a puppy, then feel free!

Done. If, of course, you actually mean the Feathered Serpent! ;)

As far as I'm aware. Monolith have a pretty grim reputation in some quarters as they disappeared completely off the radar for a while, their Yahoo group died and their website hasn't been updated in a couple of years. That said, in September I ordered some figures from them and had brilliant service - from an initial email asking if they were still alive to unpacking the actual parcel was 72 hours. I've got a few figures to get through though before I start thinking about scenery...

Oh really thats good news.
I stopped collecting the 40mm stuff because I thought I couldn't get them.
By the way excuse my ignorance but what is this Feathered serpent you mentioned?
A blog or yahoo group?

At last, some fightin' Incas:

The guys in white are by Outpost, the others are Foundry.

It took me a while to settle on colour schemes for these boys. Lots of pictures of Incas have pretty crazy textile patterns - checks, zigzags and the like. If I was painting one or two I might have been tempted, but with units it seemed easier to go with simple colours. Similarly, I've left the shields pretty blank but I may come back to those again at the end and paint something fancier. I do have a standard bearer coming up  that is flying a more elaborate standard though - pics later in the week. And I've started on the palanquin too, hopefully that'll be done some time next week.

Missed this query, sorry:

It's a Yahoo group: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Feathered_Serpent_Project/. All gaming things Aztec, Inca, Maya, Conquistador and the rest.

Very nice white, very nice all round. They go together well dont they.

Before I read your text I was thinking to myself, you do not need to paint checks on these to make them look good then!

Now I am even closer to digging mine out and starting them - its all your fault
