Lovely little army you have there.   They look like they mean business!

Just finished the Government forces, so it won’t be long before they have an outing on the tabletop 👍🏻

14th (Price’s) Regiment of Foot. Following the Battle of Fontenoy, the regiment was recalled to Scotland to help suppress the rebellious Scots. It took part in the battles Falkirk and Culloden. Brilliant miniatures and flags from @flagsofwar

4th (Barrell’s) Regiment of Foot. After unseasoned British troops had suffered a defeat at Prestonpans in Sept, a hardened British force of 7000 was recalled from Flanders and sent north under the command of General Hawley, 300 of them were Barrell’s Regiment.

64th (Loudon) Highland Regiment of Foot. The regiment saw action at the Battle of Prestonpans in September 1745 , where they were defeated and many were taken prisoner, but released later. Three companies returned to fight at Culloden in April 1746.

37th Regiment of Foot. The regiment saw action at the Battle of Falkirk in January 1746 when Colonel Sir Robert Munro was shot and then finished off with three sword blows to the head. It went on to fight at Culloden under Colonel Lewis Dejean.

13th (Gardiners) Regiment of Dragoons. During the conflict it was commanded by Colonel James Gardiner. The regiment was largely composed of recruits and on 16 Sept it was routed by a small party of Highlanders in the so called “Coltbridge Canter”.

11th Regiment of Dragoons. After 30 years of peace, the regiment under Col General Mark Kerr was called upon to fight in Scotland. Kerr was a man of marked and decided character with notions of honour and good breeding. He was great dandy and fond dueling.

Having taken the position from the Scots in morning, Government Forces prepared for a potential counterattack by a combined force of Scotland, France and Ireland. Beautiful miniatures and flags from our friends @flagsofwar.

The Duke of Cumberland watches cautiously for any sign of enemy forces. On the left flank, a detachment of Kerr’s Dragoons rides out on a reconnaissance mission.

Fantastic work mate.
I did Culloden in 15mm many years ago, trying to get all the correct regiments. Figures are long gone now but I really enjoyed the project.

What rules are you using? I can't remember what we used back in the day, but it was a set that was written for the '45.

I also did the 45 several years ago, but gave up halfway through the Government forces, having painted all the Scots.

Sharp Practice or a version of Rebels and Patriots for large skirmishes or Black Powder for the larger encounters. This is another period which I would like to run a full campaign on, as I think it lends itself well to this approach.

Excellent painting on great figures.
I think it helps keep enthusiasm high for a project if there is a really great and complete set of figures designed specifically for the period/war being collected.
