The Battle of Clostercamp 1760 (Scenario - Bat Rep Added!)
« on: October 18, 2023, 03:07:51 PM »
In this scenario, a small Allied British-Hanoverian-Hessian force (under Brunswick command) attempts to force a canal-crossing and roll up the vulnerable flank of a much larger French force.  Game report to follow:

Lovely map , above , and an excellent read on your blog. Your figures and photos really are a treat to the eye.

Great stuff! Well thought through set up. Looks like that should be a fun game with a fair few challenges for the Allied player.

Excellent!  Good to see the real thing left yet another satisfied ally strangely wanting to never have anything more to do with us......

Love your collections and enjoy your AARs too. Plus I appreciate your sharing of the rules you use, my own local group now uses them for our horse and musket battles.

Brilliant!  That's great to hear!  :D

I've got some fairly minor changes coming up (that we were using for this game):

Musketry range was far too long, so I've reduced it back to 4 inches (6 inches for skirmishers).

I'm expanding the rules for skirmishers - particularly in the case of battalions that routinely fought in either formed or skirmisher mode, such as Highlanders, Croats, French massed elite battalions, etc.  This will be tied in with rules for mounted jaeger companies, as well as French dragoon regiments fighting on foot.

Well, that was quite the fight, inconclusive as it ended up.  With perhaps the exception of the French cavalry, it seems both sides acquitted themselves fairly well...   :D

Yeah, I think it's definitely one to revisit at club, with fewer distractions!
