Swedish TYW Yellow Regiment (figures added on 6/10)
« on: 24 October 2023, 05:06:53 PM »
I thought some of you might be interested in this, the first base of musketeers for my TYW Swedish Yellow Regiment. Conversions are by Brian Rigelsford and painting is by Andrew Taylor, who also took the photo.

Excellent Paul  :-* :-* :-*

You know how highly I think of this collection; it's great to see it expanding into the "land of ice and snow".  8)

Very much looking forward to seeing the regiment as it develops and especially when complete :)

(Kudos to Andrew for doing such a great paint job too  :-* )

Many thanks, everyone, for the kind comments.

Bo: I know that the crouching figure in the middle is a Warlord Swede, with the head from a TAG Dutch pikeman (with the plume removed). All the figures have similar heads. Apart from that I'm afraid I don't know where the figures came from. Knowing Brian, it will have been a torso from one manufacturer, legs from another, shoes from another etc.

Bo: if you can spot where the legs came from, then it can't be that good :D. Our aim was to come up with figures which looked like the illustration of the Yellow Regiment at Lutzen in the Osprey book.

Many thanks for the kind comments.

Andy: I think just short of 60 figures, including a mounted officer. They're all with Andrew but, to meet my budget, he'll only paint a handful each month. This is the first month's group.

In all, I'm planning 2 Swedish infantry units (one being the Yellow Regiment) and a single cavalry unit. The other Protestants will be German allies. Brian is currently working on the second Swedish infantry unit and a German Protestant infantry unit. He's also working on some (more) Imperialist cuirassiers.

Here are some additions. Again, the conversions are by Brian Rigelsford and the painting is by Andrew Taylor.
