FK&P AAR: Munce's Wood
« on: 29 November 2023, 08:15:39 AM »
Friend Rob and I are playing through the Siege of Norchester scenario pack. After narrowly losing the first game, Tounton Bridge, my Parliamentarians would face the Royalists at Munce’s Wood.

A pack of Royalist-sympathising Clubmen have been caught by a much larger Roundhead force. Fortunately for the Clubmen, there’s also a Cavalier army in the vicinity. The scene is set for a clash at Munce’s Wood.

Nice looking set-up. Having built up large armies in 28mm specifically for FK&P I'm still trying to persuade my mates to game ECW. Having lured one of them to the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon last Saturday I'm hoping he at least will be happy to pull chits. I have the "From Marlowe to Maidenhythe" campaign book. My only issue is the 12 x 10 grid size that the author has used rather than the normal 12 x 8. I just have to game with the baselines off table!

Having gamed with the author - who is also the original poster - 10x12 is worth it for a more expansive game. I agree the non standard can irritate if you don’t have the space, hope you enjoyed the games with your solution.

Well,I really can't field a 12 x 10 grid table but my solutionworked. My remaining problem is in finding someone willing to play ECW.
