Merciless watchers painted up. Had a really good time painting these. Moving on the painting the Chalice dungeon boxed set next!

Time flies and my painting sessions are irregular. But the threshold is usually undercoating and base coating everything with an airbrush and oil washes. Once that is done, motivation to paint in the evenings increase and stuff get done relatively fast.

Finished the Fluorescent Flowers, Bell ringers, dogs and Pthumeran Queen in 1 1/2 evenings. About half the Chalice Dungeon box expansion painted up.


As a side note - I had a huge SNAFU involving gloss varnish with my old trusty Harder & Steenbeck "Ultra" airbush that had served me for the past few years. This forced  me buy a replacement airbrush before I could continue my painting as well. Fortunately I managed to pick up a superb Harder & Stenbeeck "Infinity CR2 plus Two in one" (used but in mint condition and at a great price). All I can say is the difference in control and results is huge between the two models.  I will still use my old airbrush for dirtywork such as basecoating and enamel painting and other stuff that don't require any finesse.

Thansk again for the kind words guys. And yeah, summoners, considering how well the board  game represents the video game  I imagine these will create a shitshow with the wrong enemy combo ....

Another long break from painting, but I just found some of the upcoming miniatures damn boring and tedious to paint, partially my own fault as I always like to paint the least fun stuff first just to get it done and then focus on the fun and cool minis.

The Labyrinth rats may be one of the worst miniatures in the whole game that I have seen so far. Really boring AF to paint. The Keepers of the Old Lords were just fine, but the Watchdog of the Old gods caused me lots of problems.

The thing was supposed to be painted with an inner glow, but despite by attempts and following some tutorials it did not end up exactly as it should have looked. I think part of it is due to the model not having "lava cracks" but rather supposed to have glowing skin which is harder to pull off. It was interesting to try this out as I have some Mythic Battles Ragnarok miniatures that will require the same effect and this was a good first time practice run.

Slugging through the very last couple of miniatures from the Chalice dungeon box.

Some ugly Gravekeeper scorpions, they are silly in the game and rather ugly as miniatures so I put the bare minumum effort into these. Then the Beast Possessed soul boss monster and some hunting dogs. Before I started painting the dogs I was prepared for them to be extremely boring and difficult to paint with the spikes and all. But with some airbrushing, oil wash and regular washes I was able to paint them up with little problems and rather quickly too to my surprise. It always seem that the miniatures that you think will be the worst often end up smooth painting, and vice versa.

Left to paint is the Pthumerian descendant boss mini and 4 last and 4 player character hunters.

I also thought I could share some pictures of the game actually being played. I solo'd (dual hand) the Fall of old Yharnam campaign late last night and took some pictures.  The combat in this game really is one of the best board game combat I have experienced, and paired with the upgrade of skills makes it super fun and tactical.

Thanks, it not much of a hassle as much as a rather pricey cost to swap bases. The company which I used to buy custom bases from in France has also ceased to exist unfortunately. The owner gave me a heads up so I made a last order in december stocking up for bases for Blooborne and Cthulhu Fear of the Unknown. But after that I will need to look for other sources and none that I have tried have been so flawless as my old guy over at Stuff4Games

Finished the Pthumerian descendent boss monster this evening. Pretty happy with this one, and I'm once again feeling a positive flow in painting stuff for this game after a few really bad and boring minis. Next up there are 4 playable hunter models before I can finally move on the either the Hunters dream or the Forsaken forest expansions. I also have 4 doll miniatures that I need to paint up from the stretch goals.
