15mm Goblins as Orcs/Half Ocs in 10mm
« on: January 16, 2024, 07:47:52 PM »
I know it's been discussed the other way round but I was wondering if anyone had any success particularly with any none GW style Goblins

I found some From alternative armies that look just the ticket but no idea if they are really goblin size

Those guys are human-sized in 15mm, so they'd be at least 9'' tall in 10mm.

Here are some temporarily based on 20mm pennies:

And here's one next to a large 1/72 hoplite (at least 24mm tall). I'd say they're D&D-goblin size in 1/72 rather than 15mm:

A Copplestone 10mm orc come up to around the waist of an Alternative Army goblin (see attachment), so I think you'd be better off using Copplestone half-orcs.

Hope that helps!

So they are skinny Orcs rather than proper Goblins, I'd hoped they would be half the size or Orcs and head height to 10mm humans

 thanks for the help

I'll need to look on...

Magister Militum still has some 10mm Greater Orc archers for sale.

I think even fairly small 15mm goblins will tend to be too big for 10mm. The Blood Dawn goblins from MM are shorter than the Alternative Armies ones, but they have disproportionately large heads (even for orcs) and relatively puny-looking bodies, even though they're broadly built.

Have you seen these guys? You can get them printed as singles rather than strips.

I did but didn't realise they came in singles, might need them printed at 12mm though, all the stuff zi've had done at 10mm has been undersized

I'd imagine that those ones would be scaled as if 5' tall. The same seller also does GW-style orcs, including black orcs of two. varieties, and those are bound to be bigger.

There are also these fellows from Magister Militia:

The price point would suggest that they're around 50% bigger than the Greater Orc archers.
