My 10mm Middle Earth Armies
« on: January 24, 2024, 05:41:54 PM »
Hello everyone.
I am not very expert in data entry and therefore I could make some mistakes.
I should have inserted a photo (I hope successfully) of my 10mm armies of Middle Earth, Grimbold's Eored at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
Copplestone miniatures.

Welcome to LAF!

The picture worked and your figures look excellent! The Copplestone 10mm range is a great choice for building middle earth armies. I’m looking forward to seeing more!

10mm !!! Even worse than 15mm... I'm too old for this scale  :D
Excellent paintjob, I admire people painting this scale, really.

Those look excellent, looking forward to seeing more of you collection.

With the copplestone's being a limited release have you gap filled with proxies or 3d printed figures?

I'm not young either, but with a little attention you can do it.

They look great! It's always a treat to see Middle-earth miniatures that aren't based on those films ...  ;) I look forward to seeing more!

Battle of the Pelennor Fields: Haradrim Cavalry led by their Captain with his banner: a black snake on a scarlet field.
Miniatures of the Magister Militum, light and heavy cavalry.

Excellent!

I’ll echo fred, which set of rules do you use? I am always on the lookout for games I might enjoy.

Trolls of Mordor, being taller and bigger than the orcs, I used the Splintered light miniatures, 15/18 mm armored Ogre .

Absolutely amazing work, your figures look great.

I'd love to see a wide shot of a full battle with two armies on the table.

Are those Ogres or their Orcs? Would be good to see them against the 10mm figures I was looking to do something similar

I believe those were originally a set of 20mm orcs ("Great Bag o' Orcs") by Dark Hold Miniatures. They've been repurposed as 15mm ogres by Splintered Light.

They look great here, Gino61 - and their height should be dead on for Middle-earth trolls in 10mm; Tolkien suggests that trolls were 12 feet tall or more, so a 20mm orc should be the proper height in 10mm:

Quote
"As tall as trolls they were, twelve feet or more in height"
