Admittedly, I am not the most experienced painter of green skins, because I don't own any. Every now and then I'm asked to paint a few as commission for others and here is another lot of those:

And hex-bases? I know they're probably the customer's choice, but it's kind of odd

Yeah, they are my Dredd Hex Bases, each of the 40K warbands has a different shaped base. IG are on squares, the Squats are on round ones. These are Hexes I have always hated the way their stick out over the edge of the round bases.

I will be having a Rouge Trooper Squad soon, not sure what they'll be on...

You're running out of the regular shapes!

How about triangles? Ovals? Rectangles? Pentagons? Rhomboids?

They look great. the old figures just seem nicer to me than present day 40k stuff.
