The reviewer in Private Eye thought so as well.

who? (pardon the pun)

Two words (5,4), owner is a non-dom for tax purposes.
Said 'paper still gave the first two episodes a good review.

seriously... who?

This is what was going through my head during the finale.

Everybody''s dead, Dave.

"Even the Daleks?"

Everybody's dead, Dave.
Everbody is dead.
Everybody is dead. Dave.

After watching the whole series, I genuinely think for me it was one of the worse series of doctor who going. I did not particulalry enjoy any episode bar the season finale, which I thought was a significant imporvement on the rest of the series, even though the plot was pretty dull in the finale episode.

I do think Nucti Gatwa was brilliant as a the doctor, it's just a shame that because of his scheduling for netflix and disney's desire to have a short eight episode series, it just felt like you never grew to learn who the doctor was in this series. Same thoughts for Millie Gibson and her relationship with the doctor.

I do not understand how anyone liked the episode 'Boom' I thought it was benine and remember laughing the whole way through it with two friends. I understand I am probably in the minority regarding this but I just couldn't believe Steven Moffat could have written it.

I enjoyed bringing back Mell (though done by Chris Chibnall originally). I enjoyed seeing Unit even if they did nothing the whole series (much like the Doctor). I also found the way Moffat and RTD talked about their staff in the behind the scenes episodes was an appauling attitude to have.

But if people like it I'm glad, stuff can't always stay the same and it is good to experiment with such a litteraly open-world TV show.

I have nothing important to say so just keep on scrolling.

Must admit I thought the whole series pretty forgettable over  all, apart from the really bad bits which I really remember for Al the wrong reasons…….two or three episodes were watchable, but that’s all I can say about them.  The finale was decent in the first part and poor in the second.  As to the bad bits, the first two episodes were execrable, and the fairy godmother at the end was just bewildering rubbish.  I get the feeling that the Disney influence is pulling this down to a pre teen audience.  Pity really, because when the series is good it is quite thought provoking.

hopefully its as low as it goes and next one will be a better series again overall. Trying to find the umph to bother watching the last episodes, its proving difficult

Still - It is a "new doctor - new stuff settle in thing" maybe

I am sure if they really try they can go even lower.

Or his screwdriver will develop a lightsabre attachment..

I will have to watch the end of the series now just in case they did that already lol

something to consider is that Ncuti was filming the final season of Sex Education at the same time, hence two Doctor light episodes with Dot & Bubble and 73 Yards.

Other than the first two episodes, I've enjoyed this series, in particular Dot & Bubble and The Legend of Ruby Sunday. I agree that Nucti Gatwa has been brilliant as as the Doctor - my only peeves being how often he cries and give him a defining costume!

Ok got there, it was.. ok

Although to be fair I then watched the Tom Baker first encounter with Sutie and enjoyed that more  :D

I mean really dog leash ? sigh.

And after all that time attached to the Tardis watching Sutie still did not learn to behave better.

Overall, Dot and 73 Yards probably the best of the lot to me.

Lets see how they do when they have the main character more available. expect tears I suppose. lots of them. first two were bottom of the pile.

I actually rather liked this series- but I do have to agree that the first few episodes were truly abysmal. The finale was a little lacking for me as well, it felt too Marvel-esque rather than a proper Doctor Who ending. Dot and 73 yards were both good though, and I rather enjoyed Rogue as well :)

But everyone says these are the three best episodes, and these three are light on the actual  Dr.?

Not been able to force myself to watch yet, sigh! I have just re-watched entire Tom Baker regeneration (my Doctor), now watching from first to third, still on first!

Anyone else see a potential problem?

We shall see, or I will at least, eventually  lol ;)

Late to the thread, but, yes, the early Dr. Who eps were with the nostalgia glasses on. Wafer-thin plot, no budget (not that they gave Dr. Who any). IMO, It was the actor who played the Doctor carrying the show. The NPCs were, imo, pretty worthless. My fave was Pertwee, who seemed to do the best job at haranguing the worthless humans he was surrounded by and tapping into my youthful introverted anti-society blah-de-blah-ism. Oh, and K9 was a nicely OP lackey. :D

Finetown sounds interesting, but, given the certain behavior of social media (at least in the USA), the ending had better be (spoiler) a subtle patronizing "we know better than you do and don't make an effort to learn otherwise, so be a good lad and do what we say even though it doesn't do anything, other than let us feel superior" (not that we need social media to do this...).

Dot & Bubble and 73 Yards are two episodes. Both very well done, but still only two of them.

have you seen it? it's not patronising and it wasn't until the final shots that I realised it myself.
