After my different pieces of wheat fields were finished it was time to add more variety to my battlefields, so grassland comes next.

Starting materials were again fake fur, acrylic paste and lots of colours (both normal acrylic paints and spray cans), combs, brushes, clippers, scissors - and again much time of course.

As there were a few questions about this, I created a little tutorial on how I made my wheat fields and meadows from fake fur.

This is also my first attempt at a how-to/tutorial, so be gracious with me

The how-to can be found on my blog:

Unpaved roads were next on my to-do list and of course, these should also be flexible so that they can adapt to hilly terrain.

Some details how I made them and more pictures can be found on my Blog at:

Should be enough for the time being  8)

Just to show how flexible they are:

And they work for 15mm and 28mm scale:

I love this idea! I bought some of the much talked about Fat Franks roads (a well known U.K. seller) and (whilst he was great and reasonably priced) the roads all cracked and fell apart very rapidly. I remade them but they’re still not really flexible enough. This is an excellent idea and I’m now going to redo them using your much better method. Thank you

Within the next 2 weeks I will upload a tutorial on my Blog of how I made them, so maybe it of interest for you.

Really cool

Is there a particular fur you recommend for both the fields and roads

I've been trying to work out a way of making something like this for a while and your fur idea seem like an  ideal base

On the lookout for 10mm Magister Militum Fantasy figures, halflings and woodelves in particular

Is there a particular fur you recommend for both the fields and roads

Use one with not too long hairs, even for 28mm miniatures a floor hight of 3cm is more than enough, even to represent a wheat field and the hairs of the fur should be easy to brush, as this is crucial for combing the color well into the fur.

Many thanks to you as well!  :)
That´s why I added "for the time being"  :D

Another little "How To" from me is Online on my Blog - this time how I make unpaved roads using fake fur as my base material again.

The complete How-To can be found on my Blog:

A few pictures showing some of the steps:

End result:

And here are some sections put together - as you can see, the transitions are not too noticeable:
