Post-war and modern terrain?
« on: 24 November 2009, 06:10:28 PM »
Does anyone have any suggestions for terrain pieces (esepcially prefab) or kits suitable for modern developed cities?

Intact buildings (ie not ruins) suggestions more than welcome.

Basically I am always after more quick 'n' easy terrain for my supers games.

I second WorldWorks. Really good stuff. The problem is that I'm currently staring a pile of buildings and road sections hurriedly printed out, but not yet assembled.  ::)

I make my own. It's quick, cheap and fun.

City:

Waterfront section:

Pretty soon I'll be building a more run down setting based on The Wire TV series too.

I have scanned the tea house many times, sir, and your stuff is truly fantastic. Unfortunately I am pretty slow and focused on other stuff so I am looking for prefab and kits.

Yous stuff is nonetheless superb.

Out of curiosity - where have you sourced your vehicles and the dockside containers from?

Those are card, my current ones are solid foam from Tablescape, 3 for £15.00 and they come painted.

They're not on their site though so you may need to email.

I was thinking of inverting these for stackable skyscrapers:

Cover the inside with colored sheets of acetate for windows.
Price is right.

The other option a lot of people use are PLASTICVILLE buildings in 0 scale
They come as kirs or ready built ,but naturally for more money
If you live in the USA they are fairly easy to get ,there are a couple of places in the UK that sell them

If you check out some of the zombie threads you'll see some of the buildings there, they have a 1950's feel generally.

If you can live with them being 1/72 or OO or whatever the railroad scale is then Dapol  make a range of inexpensive plastic kits that have some useful applications. Look out for the Shop with Flats and the Petrol station.

In some ways I prefer these as the footprint is smaller. I've been adapting some for use as town/ city buildings for use with the Eureka FFL figures.

There is also Steve Barber's tenement block

He also had a speakeasy, but it isn't listed.
