Review of the Scenery Forge Wargames Accessories Mold

I did a review on my blog of the Wargames Accessories Mold from Scenery Forge.  I tend to bulk out my resin, metal and 3d printed terrain bits with plaster casts as the parts are much cheaper and I do not have to wait for parts to come in the mail.  This mold should be useful.

I wonder if air dry clay would work for the thinner bits? I've coated this with superglue before today to increase its strength...

Looking at the items I think I would be happy glueing the tools etc to scatter like tables or barrels - similar to the tools on model tank kits!

The problem is notsomuch that the pieces are delicate.  The problem is that they will break when de-molding as they are brittle.  I tried the pitchfork and let it set for two days to make sure it was completely dry.  It was still too brittle and came apart when I flexed side of the mold to get the part out.  I will be gluing the green stuff casts in a similar way to how you are describing to support them.

Theoretically you could with the longer pieces but most of those have a branch coming off the main shaft that would still break in the same way.  Dental plaster tends to become more brittle the thinner it is cast.

Thanks.  I tend to enjoy terrain more than painting minis.  It is a big reason why I only play skirmish games.
