The Combat of Sanderhausen 1758 (Scenario & AAR)
« on: 05 July 2024, 04:12:38 PM »
We had a fun little SYW club-night game last week, pitting the Hessians against the French in a refight of the suitably-sized Combat of Sanderhausen.

Here's the scenario:  http://www.jemimafawr.co.uk/2024/06/23/the-combat-of-sanderhausen-23rd-july-1758-a-scenario-for-tricorn/

And here's the AAR:  http://www.jemimafawr.co.uk/2024/07/04/the-combat-of-sanderhausen-1758-the-refight/

Looks great. A prompt to myself to complete my 15mm afrench refurbishment and paint my Anglo-Hanoverians. Old Freikorps figures but a certain charm.

Very nice! I played this battle some years back with a home-brew set of rules, since left by the wayside. It was to complex for some of the players. Might try it again with Valour & Fortitude.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Dang.  So close, and yet so far for the Hessians.  Oh well...

Yes, sadly so! :)

It's a little bit to the north of the 'Fulda Gap' beloved of Blessed Cold War Memory.  It's just to the south of the NORTHAG/CENTAG boundary and within the III GE Corps sector, rather than the V US Corps sector.
