Just got my copy via Amazon, looks fun. Might not entirely suit my gaming group but some elements may well be used to 'enhance' Pikeman's Lament games :-)

Can you suggest any further background reading on the "attitudes and beliefs from the time"?

Witchfinders by Malcom Gaskill is a good read
Malleus Maleficarum has interesting bits about stealing penises and things like that
The Book of English Magic by Richard Heygate is good.

if you prefer more digestible visual information, both Warlock and the tv series Salem for all their faults (time travel and weird breast monster aside) do follow proper folklore (hammering a footprint with an iron nail, the aforementioned penis theft)

I'll second Witchfinders by Gaskill, it's an excellent read.

Got my copy of Devilry Afoot. Excellent production values!

Well I couldn't resist, had to see what the fuss was about and my copy arrived today.

Lovely book, excellent production and some really nice illustrations.  Excellent to see Bloody Miniatures making an appearance amongst the bigger boys' products.

Oh well. That'll be a new period, then.  ::)

I've just given in and placed an order, Unfortunately I also use my Amazon account for work and and it started paying off against my bosses card. A quick edit later to my card  and hopefully he'll never realise.  ;D

Roll on Friday delivery and some nice weekend reading.

So they surprised me by delivering at 12.00 today. I had a quick flick through over lunch and looks like it will be fun to play through.

Been a busy last couple of months and I've not been on LAF much, so I missed that this was published!

Just grabbed the PDF off WGV and like what I see so far, we'll probably give this a go in the next couple weeks.

We had a pair of games today. Was fun, if bloody. Lost the first fame against the zombies, won the second against werewolves with only moderate casualties. Will do a fuller write-up later on Warbard.

Thanks very much for the review Burgundavia!

A note on werewolves, the intention is that they are already in shaggy werewolf form, but transfigure into wolf-wolf form (i.e., just wolves) when fleeing and hiding. All other actions have them back in werewolf form.

Ah, we'd wondered about that! Thanks for the errata, we haven't gotten back to Devilry Afoot yet but will keep that in mind when we do.

One of our authors at Goonhammer posted a review here.

DA has been one of the games that has been mentioned quite a bit on the Discord the last few months, with lots of interest due to the time period, available model ranges, and excellent design of the game. I personally don't have a ton of experience with the time period, but was inspired by the rulebook and grabbed some Bloody Miniatures and Crucible Crush minis. My marginal efforts came up with these people to hunt down some demons. I had actually purchased the PDF on WGV without knowing it was available in print, had it printed at Lulu.com and it's gorgeous, but am considering getting the hardcover too =)
