Thanks for your input, guys! Not having played a game, yet. I had forgotten that the followers flee when their main character dies. Hmm, bummer. I guess it is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of thing. Two characters each will require may require major reworking on the scenarios and longer waits. One character, no follower each, means it goes quickly. But what  does the player do if the character dies, then?

Hmmm....  ???

I wonder if I tweak the rules to NOT have the follower flee. Maybe I'll try that as a middle ground.

Try it both ways Mike. As written, with just a character each - unless a player takes a gentleman - and then with a follower each with a rule mod.

Each player controlling a single character will make them more thoughtful about their actions for sure!  :D
