I'd had the Minden blacksmith set for years and never got round to it. Then in a batch of civilians I bought last year was one of the lad holding the horse. I couldn't think of an easy use/conversion for the figure and I was determined to paint ALL the civilians I had in that batch. So I thought I'd just paint the blacksmith and use the odd figure. Then I came across a bag of dismounted hussars and they just seemed to fit..

I've got a field forge to do as well...

Ah yes, I thought she could pass for ECW but I'm not buying an £18 pack of figs just to get one that might be useful. Never mind.

I was lucky in that all these recent civilians were part of a big batch off ebay so a random selection of makes and part packs. A but frustrating in that when identifying them I looked at the paakcs they were from and really liked some of the other figures. But buying the packs would then give me a lot of duplicates...

But the civilian tally is quite large at the moment so I really don't need more...

Lovely work - Renegade were my first historical minis, and I wish they continued, somewhere!

It was finding them at my local shop and ECW by Warhammer Historical that broke me out of Warhammer -

I was lucky to grab a load via ebay last year at a bargain price. And along with Bloody and a few Bicorne I should be sorted with this project and have a good pile left over to sell on.
