« on: 01 December 2009, 02:42:58 PM »
I am not really in the market to buy any but I'd like to know if there are any manufacturers of them i n 1:56 scale, preferably not die cast nor white metal.

"Die Waffenkammer" do a suitable kit in Resin (AFAIK):

I think you can order these from Battlefield Berlin.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw it is not available yet, but listed as forthcoming.

I thought of JTFM and then realised it was the same folk. Been waiting forever for them to release the Tiger I.

Lots of stuff in the pipeline guys, including the StuG.III.

I am working on the Tiger, should have some pics worth showing in a week or so.

I have masters for the StuG.III C/D and G early and late here, it's just trying to get them all into moulds and casting..... Currently 35 or so masters in the shop waiting to be pulled....

If the models are similar to Chieftain's StuG IIIs in 1/56th scale, it is indeed noticeable. I painted some as a commission earlier this year and compared them to my 1/48th Tamiya StuGs. I wouldn´t mind using either on its own with 28mm infantry, but if using both at the same time, it would look strange.

I see...
so it is the usual taste thing if one wants to have bigger or smaller tanks
pricewise it can't be that different, but of course it's easier to convert to other versions in plastic.
