1914 British Khaki shade - brown or greenish or both?

I realise this has been discussed plenty in the past. Some seem to believe strongly it was either a brown shade, others a greenish hue. However, someone I talked to said he had spoken to a few guys at the Army Museum and seen the uniforms in the collection, and concluded without a doubt that the uniforms had a brownish shade to them. And that only the officer tunics could have a very slight greenish tint to them.

Thoughts (beyond 'its your toys')?

I’d agree with brownish for troops. Officers had privately tailored and greenish tinge seems to be commonly used. Paler trousers are possible for officers too.

I have original items of British khaki from the Great War and leaving aside issues of aging it's most definitely a brownish cast.
