Ahh the Bot is back again.... Was wondering where he'd been this time he returns with a slightly different name:

Well the Tiny Minded Page has it's own pet spambot, with a notionally Argentine accent*, so why shouldn't LAF have its own?

As this is a far more active forum, I think we should have more, at least three or four hailing from diverse spots like Murmansk, Asuncion and Reigate.

* There's a popular theory that the TMP spambot is actually the 'Editor', dressed up as Eva Peron attempting to breathe life into an essentially moribund forum. It's success as a business strategy is open to question but I have no problems with him indulging his passion for drag and mixing it with his business. Everyone should be free to live their best life.

I'd always assumed it was merely a gamer with a shorter-than-usual butterfly period and worse-than-usual interpersonal skills....!
A bot makes more sense but again brings the question of *why* lol

TMP... an essentially moribund forum.

I've not even thought about that place in years. Is it that dead over there? Is he still paying Thai ladies  ::) to be moderators?

Oi. I live near Reigate.

Yes, I’ve missed the random conversation starter enquiries about ‘Has anyone ever gamed <insert obscure conflict nobody’s ever heard of>?

Very strange…

Before I found this haven of common sense (mostly) and decency (exactly)  ;) :D, I used to frequent The Moaning Place sorry the so called The Miniatures Page and yes the spambot in question was just one of the many reasons why I got the hell out of there, talk about Spam Factor 10 >:(.
That and the endless appeals for money to help out the Thai "ladies" with something of another.

Keep LAF spam free  :D

To the question, yes I think that would work well. Use US figures from the Spanish American War and Japanese from Boxer Rebellion or Russo-Japanese War. Tensions between the US and Japanese did worsen during that period and then in early 20th Century. Would be a fun game could do naval and land actions.

Funny you should say that. Just this week some of the mods have suffered a series of misfortunes. Editor Andy Pandy had their laptop destroyed for the fifth time by a tropical cyclone. Editor Sootie N Sweep had all of their back teeth explode again, requiring extensive dental surgery (weird and intrusive photos to follow). Meanwhile Editor Billenben had sixteen members of their family die of beriberi, was kidnapped by the Shining Path and was trapped for a week in a shed near Luton airport.

I know it's only been a week or two since our last fundraiser butplease help out with donations if you can. SEND MONEY! SEND MONEY NOW YOU RUBES!  ;)

Thank you. Boxer Japanese and Spanish American War Americans are what I was thinking. I saw an online discussion about the topic, which looked interesting. Thank you
