Good Morning All,
I just visited a thread where people were asking about Post-Apoc Billboard signs. There are many fine MDF, 3-D printed or resin billboard frames out there, and they cry out for some sort of janky, ironic imagery to make them sources of wry smiles at the gaming table. These can be made yourself from various source images, and to demonstrate this concept (theoretically of course).
Attached here are 4 long digital art collages featuring PA or slightly near future (or future past) advertising images, both in a "clean" state and a "trashed" state. You could make some of these sorts of things on your own and store "things of this sort that you yourself have created" onto your hard-drive for future use, then just re-size them to the dimensions of your desired model and paste them in as needed, using your favorite graphics program to do the re-sizing. Maybe use your technical paints like Typhus Corrosion or your pastel chalks to trash them out to your heart's desire. I've cut some edges and holes in them with my hobby knife and folded/curled the edges to make them look even worse.
Most of the images I used are AI generated, so they have no copyright, but I pulled a few from other sources such as a photo, a heavily-modded existing ad, and a video, although all have been extensively re-worked and placed into context, making this something between a "digital collage" and "satire", so there. Fr'instance, the Kara fembot ad was a blatantly adult image, which I had to crop a bit more to make it more ...well.... less sleazy anyway. You can do similar with a little work. If you're gonna attempt it, maybe insert your own ironic sense of humor portraying a society only somewhat more decadent and corrupt than our own, as we enjoyers of the post-apocalyptic genre get the punchline to that inside joke.
Now mind you, you could just blatantly cheat, right-click on the attached images and do a quick "save image as..." and then use the attached ones in a way that I describe above, just re-sizing them to your needs and using them as you will. I personally don't object to that. Clicking on the images will open a separate window which contains the full-sized images.
But that would probably be wrong.
If you like these and choose to use this content somehow, please reply to keep this thread towards the top. Thanks, and as always, have fun!
