10mm Lord of the Rings Midgard
« on: 19 February 2025, 09:35:00 AM »
So I have started a new fantasy project in a new scale.  I usually do fantasy mass battle in 15mm but I could not resist these minis.

The mins are 3d printed figures from the Wakes Emporium STLs.  I had the printed by Richard at ROK Minis (https://www.rokminis.com/).  They are lovely little sculpts printed very well.

I have chosen to use Midgard as the rules, they do look great fun and I have decided to stick with the 28mm bases sizes, so bases will be 120mm x 60mm.  The mass effect look just right!

What do you think?

Those look great, I love the massed battle look of the units! Just out of curiosity, how compatible would the Wake’s Emporium figures be with Copplestone’s 10mm figures? I have a bunch of the Copplestone figures, so would be using them as a benchmark. (I guess since the Wake’s Emporium figures are 3D printed, the height could be adjusted to match, but would the figure proportions look weird if they need adjustment?)

Thank you.

Sorry I have no idea how they would match but as you say they could be tweeked a little as they are 3d prints.

I had some printed to match, just gave the guy, ( I forget who) the height to head and top of eye's, he was kind enough to mock up a couple of different rescale options, it helped he had some copplestone to hand

I'm wondering how they might fit 6mm
On the lookout for 10mm Magister Militum Fantasy figures, halflings and woodelves in particular

These look good - nice big units.

I think my mate has printed a few of these as tests - they were pretty similarly sized to the metal 10s we have (GW, Copplestone, Pendraken)

In case you have missed it, Little Wars TV also did a 10mm Helm's Deep Wargame using the Warmaster Revolution rule book. I started watching it and immediately recalled your thread here. The scenario can also be downloaded if interesting for you  :)

Two more bases, Uruk Hai Crossbow as formed missile armed troops and Gondorian Rangers as skirmishers.  The details on the Rangers is awesome.

Beautiful work! The units both look great, you’re right about the details on the rangers, that’s exceptional.

Yes, incredible on how good the details are. Nice work done here! Only negative point is the ranger captain with the sword in the left hand but that can be ignored.

Love the figs, really enjoyed the battle report!

That battle report though, so much work building all of the terrain and the armies and the skits, all for one very excellent video! Thanks for posting.

Two more bases for this project.  Uruk Hai swordsmen, sworduruks and some Gondorian Cavalry.

Great sculpts and well printed
