Chocktaw, Cherokee or Chickasaw 28mm
« on: February 20, 2025, 09:15:08 PM »
Hi all
I am looking to make a unit of native american confederate cavalry and am looking for recommendations for mounted and dismounted versions. My internet searching is not being helpful.

Cheers
Brian

I would think just using some confederate cavalry would work. But now I want to look up photos of those units. My great great grandpa severed with the 69th North Calina when he was 17 in one of their last intakes of recruits.

And Check out Perry Bros metal range as well, they have both mounted, dismounted and horse holding sets. Some in full uniform, some in partial uniform and bushwackers/irregulars in civilian kit.

There is a company named Company D, I believe, and they do Native Americans for the Civil War.

These three tribes had dress similar to the Muscogee and Seminole (they, together constitiute what is commonly refrred to as The Five Tribes). So you can use Seminole figures.

The Old Glory Seminoles, while not the quality of say, Perry, offer a good dismounted option. The OG Seminoles are also separate head figures so you can get nice variety.

Good luck with the project. Looking forward to seeing future posts regarding your progress.

Company D miniatures in the UK has "mounted Cherokee rifles".
Sash and Sabre in the US has some too.
