Konflict47 V2
« on: 26 February 2025, 07:37:40 AM »
At Beachhead Games Expo a couple of weeks ago I was talking with the guy from Warlord Games and we were discussing the 'Epic' scale games they do.  The chat came around to V2 of Konflcit47 and the possibilty of it being released in 'Epic'/15mm....the game then known as 'War Without End' was originally a 15mm game released by Clockwork Goblin.

Personally I think this would be a great idea and as some may know I have a good collection of 15mm scale K47 minis.

Would there be support for this amongst you guys and girls?

I am sure that if they did these in plastic they would prove popular.
Seeing larger scale battles in this setting would look great.
Would most likely have Dust players interested too.

The idea of large sized games is what appeals to me.  I have a couple of dozen 15mm German and US 'mechs' but I'd love Russians as well.

So fingers crossed lol

Whilst I would love this to happen, it's not overly likely due to the tie in with "Bolt Action", which is 28mm.
The original "Clockwork Goblin" stuff was great.

Bolt Action 3rd edition, with it's force builder is becoming more popular in 15mm, so who knows.

Hey folks! So it looks like V2 is coming later on this year. A lot of news at the UK Games Expo a few weeks ago. Andy Chambers taking a central role, game is heavily based on the new Bolt Action edition (which makes a lot of sense) but Andy has said now more emphasis on the 'weird war' part of it.
New edition coming in a starter set complete with plastics for some of the major units.

Some of the other news and miniature reveals here:

What are people's plans for the new edition?

Honestly, to pretty much ignore it, same as any other Bolt Action version. Maybe pinch out the odd figure or scenic accessory from the range for use elsewhere. That is assuming it stays in 32mm, if it goes to 15mm then I won't even do that.

Keep an eye out for any kits that take my fancy, but keep using the old rules, I was even using them for normal bolt action games. nothing I've heard about K47 second edition has made me more likely to play.

Ive always thought warlords weird war range was a bit crap especially when compared with Westwind, even artisan have better figures for weird war games,

I have some interest,  but there is still the issue of designs missing the most obvious of mistakes.
The Vogelspinne is an example,  the machine gun in the nose has a view slit above it which would be useless unless the operator is leaning over the machine hun. And then, where is the driver?

There is always the question of how expensive they will be, GW prices?

We do now have details of the pre-orders (due in September). £95 from Warlord, although you can find it for 20% off if you shop around.

I like that this was starting to approach GW prices, but then GW said "B*tch, please" when they showed the prices of the new Horus Heresy set :D

I quite like the idea of just using the standard Warlord infantry, but then 'accessorising' them with weird-war helmets, guns etc. and then the odd zombie, bear trooper and mech wandering about :)

And "On tabletop" (ex Beasts of War) have an upcoming week of information in regards to this. A quick show off of the plastic sprues - new ones - has just been released.
