Foreign Object Damage.

When an aircraft is damaged by random crap on the tarmac/flight deck/etc. Could just be dings in the skin, could be a damaged prop, could be something catastrophic like "your jet engine ingested a fistful of gravel and is about to explode".

It's also shorthand for the actual objects that can cause such damage. "Hey, someone dropped a pen out on the flight line. Whose FOD is this?"

Airplane people tend to be really strict about not leaving crap lying around on the surfaces aircraft operate from.
