After two episode it seem to be the missing link between Bladerunner and Aliens. Great to watch, full of ideas for gaming. Great fun, looking forward to 3-8

Holy crap, the henchman with the Boy Cavalier is Adrian Edmondson! It was niggling how familiar he looked.

That threw me as well ! Lol

I have to admit that I did not enjoy the first episode and almost gave up after 20 or 30 minutes :(

+++ SPOILERS AHEAD +++

My main issues with it:
  • it was set 100 years in the future and 40 years in the past, which clashed badly for me
  • Waking up out of hibernation, your first thought is "cigarette" ::) And, in 100 years, they haven't perfected the vape, so cigarette smoke is still a thing?
  • New Horizons left the Earth doing 52,000 mph (give or take) and took 2 years (24 months) to reach Saturn. That ship supposedly did it in 3 months, so approximately 8x the speed - and that's without the fact it should have been decelerating at some point. That means when it ploughed through the atmosphere at maybe 400,000 mph, it should have been a fireball that levelled the city and vapourised, rather than nudging against a couple of towers with its engine still firing (so still accelerating) and most of its specimen cases intact
  • The kidult actors who had been to Haribo acting school are now suddenly superheroes who just magically know stuff (I haven't seen episode 2, so maybe they'll make sense)
I know it's niggles, but when something starts with such nonsense, it doesn't bode well.

I wasn't expecting a huge amount, but this was so much worse than anything I'd considered. I may watch episode 2, but it's touch-and-go just now  :(

After seeing the damage cause by passenger planes in NYC on 9/11, the spaceship crash really feels underwhelming. Barely any fire, the rescue team arrives in t-shirts.
Maybe in the future, ships will be catastrophe proof or something...

I suppose it depends on the fuel source. Jet fuel is insanely dangerous.

Which reminds me, how strong are guillotines in 22nd century?

I've not seen the series (yet - may later) but had to look it up. She's a hybrid; human consciousness transferred into a synthetic body - in her case when she was only 11 which may explain the cuddly toy!  lol

Yeah, she's a kid in the synth body. The weapon she's carrying is a guillotine blade she tore off one of the old fashioned paper guillotines.

I gave up after one episode, so I have no idea how it fares against an alien

I’m enjoying it overall. Really builds on the films, timeline hiccup aside.
