It's quite a low key moment. Overtaken by the guillotine blade magnetically snapping against her back.

The child-minds inside the young adult bodies is an interesting take: the contrast of intelligence and physical capability played against naivety and wonderment. Of all the hybrid synths, Wendy (as befits the Peter Pan backdrop) is the most sensible, the closest to an adult. I'm enjoying the series.

It's starting to pick up for sure (i've just watched ep.4), and the different issues thrust on each of the kids/hybrids are compelling.

I really like Alien 3. It's better with the extended cut. And thankfully Resurrection is so far in the future it doesn't count.

Totally agree.

A3 has a completely different atmosphere to A1 and A2, but for me it's a worthwhile  addition to the story line.

I like it too, but as a separate entity. I read the Earth Hive comics before I saw the movie, so in my head-canon, the film never quite meshed. But I do agree that is is a good movie...

oh yeah, I read them as well (although the art got really lazy as the series progressed), but comic stories are never cannon really... being a Doctor Who fan teaches you that.

Yes, comics storylines are weird that way. I remember being immensely confused after reading some Transformers comics back in the day (early eighties) when I was going super hard on the animated series (G1). The comics presented a completely divergent timeline and I had no clue what to make of it.

Only later did I understand how that happened. And the same went for MASK, MotU and GI-Joe (basically all my childhood animated series )

But this phenomenon was never confined to comics; the same thing happened to novels as well.

First one coming to mind is Splinter of the Mind's Eye. At the time published as the official continuation of the Star Wars storyline after the release of the first film (later dubbed A New Hope), before The Empire Strikes Back was even an idea. It was later even retconned away completely.

For those of you who are too young to have read it, due to the changes in the plot direction (and parentage) it has a very high Game of Thrones style squick factor.

well, ep. 5 certainly scratched my "I want to see more of the Maginot crew" itch...

the Eye is certainly MVP on this show... but we appear to have, despite the distance, instant interstellar communication, despite Hadley's Hope waiting weeks for a response in 60 years time.
